Thunder championship parade 2025: Best moment and highlights as Oklahoma City shows out for its team

The Oklahoma City Thunder are the 2025 NBA Champions and on Tuesday they get to celebrate with their city, as their championship parade kicks off in front of their fans. It took all seven games, but OKC defeated the Indiana Pacers in their first championship since the rebrand from the Seattle SuperSonics.

It’s a momentous occasion for the team and their fans are skipping work and school to be able to celebrate with them and loudly chant “OKC.” They estimate that at least 500,000 people were on location.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chet Holmgren and Jalen Williams and the other Thunder stars have hit the streets of downtown with confetti, championship gear and as they admitted, running on little to no sleep.

Players interacting with fans a lot during the parade, getting off the busses to hand out gear, sign autographs, pose for photos and even give fans the opportunity to get a close look, and for some even touch, the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy.

Here are some of the best moments from the parade so far:

Larry O-B joins the party

Fans have been lining up all morning getting ready for the parade and some fans who got front row spots got a once in a lifetime opportunity to touch the championship trophy.

Caruso’s first championship was in 2020, so he wasn’t able to celebrate properly, and he is finally able to feel the parade excitement first hand.

Champagne showers

The Thunder struggled to pop champagne following the win and clearly have learned a lot since Sunday. The champagne was flowing in downtown OKC today.

Shai’s dad weighs in on son’s win

Gilgeous-Alexander is now an NBA champion, but that’s not what his dad is most proud of.

SGA hypes up crowd

Gilgeous-Alexander showed up wearing a Canadian flag and took the mic to get the crowd ready for the big day.

Chet locks in

Holmgren promised that he was good to hold the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy, but eventually his teammates stepped in to take it away from him, nervous that he would drop the hardware.

Caruso’s one-of-a-kind chain and shirt

Alex Caruso is reminding everyone that he’s been here before, wearing his championship ring earned with the Los Angeles Lakers around his neck. His t-shirt choice was also one to note, with a Mount Rushmore of … himself. Caruso has a box of the shirts and tossed them into the crowd at the parade.

OKC Fire gets in on the fun

The players are greeted by a team flag hanging off firetruck ladders as they begin the parade.
